Governor’s Proclamation Signing and Awards

THREE members of the BOD at Chains Interrupted will receive the prestigious Outstanding Anti-Human Trafficking Service Award presented by Governor Reynolds.
Lenchen Raeside, Co-Founder of Chains Interrupted will receive the award in honor of her long history of serving those victimized by Human Trafficking, prior to most people having even heard the term. She has battled in this fight for well over 10 years, assisting out of trafficking, including a minor who had been illegally taken to another country.
Teresa Davidson, Co-Founder of Chains Interrupted will receive the award in honor of her integral role on the team that created “No Room for Trafficking,” a training video for hotel and motel staff across Iowa through the Iowa Network Against Human Trafficking. Teresa was the main script writer and is featured in the film.
Heather Brown, BOD member of Chains Interrupted will receive the award in honor of her integral role on the team that created “No Room for Trafficking.” Heather is featured in the film and was courageous enough to share her lived experience in the hope that her story will help others get out of The Life.
The Governor will also be reading and signing a Proclamation declaring January as “Slavery and Human Trafficking Prevention and Awareness Month.” All this will happen in the rotunda of the Capitol Building in Des Moines starting at 11:00. All are welcome.
