About the event

The Red Sand Project involves pouring environmentally friendly red sand into the cracks of sidewalks, parking lots, etc. to raise awareness about human trafficking and those who “fall through the cracks” in this heinous crime. Created by artist Molly Gochman, this is an easy way to create opportunities for people to question, connect with an organization, and take action against Human Trafficking and exploitation. Chains Interrupted (CI) adds sidewalk chalk messages to this and would like to extend an invitation for you to partner with us in our annual Red Sand Project.

Here’s how:

1) Gather people, location/necessary permissions, and supplies

a. People: friends, family, team, organization, youth group, church, business, community group, etc.!

b. Location/Permissions: Think about anywhere there is a crack in a sidewalk, parking lot, etc.! Public places are fair game, but make sure to ask for permission if you want to use it on private property.…
